Metal Testing and Material Verification for Critical Applications

When producing metal products, guaranteeing the quality of feedstock, incoming materials, and finished components is essential. Undetected variation, contamination, or counterfeit material can lead to performance failures, compliance issues, and costly rework.

Quality Metal partners with clients to define clear material standards and accurately measure variance from those specifications. We evaluate powders, solids, and aggregates using advanced elemental analysis and non-destructive testing methods.

How does Quality Metal evaluate material?

The Massbox enables ultra-sensitive, multi-elemental analysis and mapping with minimal sample preparation, offering unmatched insight into purity, composition, and trace contaminants—crucial for performance and consistency.

  • Detects ultra-trace contaminants and compositional deviations down to hundreds of parts-per-billion levels

  • Rapid, non-destructive analysis for both virgin and recycled metal

  • De-risks feedstock used in critical applications by ensuring batch-to-batch consistency

  • Supports material certification and process optimization for aerospace, medical, industrial use, etc.

How the Massbox Works

Massbox directly analyzes solid material and provides trace-level detection for nearly the entire periodic table of elements (lithium to uranium).

As a process control tool, Massbox can quickly verify that active elements have been evenly distributed. If the critical elements are poorly distributed, Massbox assists in diagnosing the issue.

Massbox in the Media

Featuring the Massbox is Robert Thomas's latest edition of the "Practical Guide to ICP-MS and Other Atomic Spectroscopy Techniques." Our very own Massbox's LALI-TOF-MS technique is featured in one of the new chapters.

This comprehensive guide, the first of its kind since 2014, offers invaluable insights into the world of ICP-MS while comparing it with other complementary AS techniques. Plus, it dives into the incredible capabilities of LALI-TOF-MS, including the same Massbox technology used by QualityMetal.co.
